L’ARBRE GÉNÉALOGIQUE

Meet Lucie, Tom, Maia, Caroline et Jerome. They form the first phase of our very first L’ARBRE GÉNÉALOGIQUE, a visual expression of a family tree representing the parents and their three children.

We recorded the family's identity in a unique and novel way by creating a tree from natural local wood, painted in pure white, and store-bought branches, left natural. Each family member is represented through a personalized Identity Time Capsule. On a special piece of paper we recorded the name, date and place of birth, hobby and the fingerprint of their right index. The personal recorded information was then cast in resin, in a unique mold.

The white tree, a visual metaphor for life, has two branches, one for each parent. The three children are found on branches that intersect each parent's branch, the only 'fruit-bearing branches' of the tree.

The second phase of the project is to create and add new Identity Time Capsules for the rest of the family - uncles, aunts and cousins, and of course, the grandparents.
