Fragile

The resin-cast three-legged stool, with a wood-carved ash seat, is the beginning of the experimentation with resins, and the first step towards CAPSULERIE. Fallen tree branches were rescued from the local Northumbrian forests and re-purposed into legs when cast in resin.

Fragile is a design sculpture, a metaphor about natural life’s fragility as a result of the human intervention in the natural environment. It is also an invitation for reflection about one’s own interaction with nature and how to mindfully apply own ‘weight’ on it.
